NR

Nur Rashidah

Team Lead, Petaling Jaya · Foundations

"The practice task format changed how I thought about the sessions. I was not sitting there listening and hoping to remember — I was going to have to actually try something at work and then account for what happened. That accountability made a difference."

CK

Chong Kah Hing

Marketing Manager, KL · Marketing Programme

"I had done a few short marketing courses before. The difference here was the level of specificity — not frameworks for their own sake, but how you actually run a segmentation when your customer data is limited, which is almost always the real situation."

Siti Mariam

Operations Head, Selangor · Advanced Programme

"I will be honest — the first month was harder than I expected. The expectation that you argue a position and defend it, rather than agree with the case analysis presented, is unfamiliar if you have not studied that way before. By month three I was used to it and appreciated it."

Dhanesh Vijayan

Senior Manager, Johor Bahru · Foundations

"The delegation module was the most useful ten weeks I have spent on a professional development programme. I had been managing for three years and had learned to do things myself when they were not done right. That habit does not survive close examination."

Lim Yin Teng

Brand Strategist, KL · Marketing Programme

"What set this apart from other courses I have tried is that no platform or tool was pushed. The focus was on understanding customers, not on which software to use. That made the content more durable — I am not worried it will be out of date in two years."

AR

Ahmad Razif

Director, Kuala Lumpur · Advanced Programme

"The peer advisory group was something I did not expect to value as much as I did. Six people at similar career stages, meeting regularly over eight months, with no agenda except honest thinking about difficult situations. That kind of structured peer conversation is genuinely hard to find."

Participant journeys in more detail

Case 01

From individual contributor to manager: Foundations programme

Challenge

A logistics team lead in Selangor had been promoted to manage a team of nine after five years as the top performer in the department. Nine months in, she had become the bottleneck — reviewing every task, correcting output before it went out, and working longer hours than she had before the promotion. Two team members were considering leaving.

What the programme addressed

The Foundations programme's delegation and feedback modules gave her a framework for assessing where each team member actually was in terms of capability — as distinct from where she assumed they were. The practice task in week four required her to delegate a specific piece of work and document what she observed. That documentation changed how she understood the team.

Outcome (10 weeks)

By the end of the programme, three team members were handling tasks she had previously reviewed personally. Both staff members considering leaving remained with the team for at least twelve months after. Her own working hours reduced by roughly eight hours per week.

"The programme did not tell me anything I could not have read in a book. What it did was make me look at what I was actually doing, which I had been avoiding."
Case 02

Building a customer research capability: Marketing programme

Challenge

A marketing manager at a mid-sized consumer goods distributor in KL was responsible for decisions about product ranging, pricing, and channel allocation. Most of those decisions were made on the basis of sales data from the previous quarter and the preferences of the senior sales team. There was no structured process for understanding why customers bought or left.

What the programme addressed

The Marketing and Customer Strategy programme's research toolkit gave her specific methods for interviewing customers and analysing purchase behaviour without large agency budgets. The segmentation module gave her a framework for grouping customers by behaviour rather than by demographic category, which is what the company had been using.

Outcome (19 weeks)

Her final project produced a customer segmentation that identified one segment — mid-size food service operators — as significantly more profitable per unit than the segment the company had been prioritising. That finding led to a channel reallocation that produced a 14% improvement in margin contribution over the following two quarters.

"The research toolkit alone was worth the programme fee. I had been guessing at customer behaviour. Now I have a way of actually finding out."
Case 03

Leading organisational change: Advanced Management Programme

Challenge

A general manager at a professional services firm in KL was responsible for consolidating two operating divisions that had previously competed internally. The consolidation had been announced but had stalled — people from both sides were protecting their existing processes, and two senior members were actively resistant.

What the programme addressed

He used the consolidation as the organisational question he carried through the Advanced Management Programme. The change management and governance modules gave him a more precise vocabulary for what was happening. The faculty adviser challenged his initial approach, which had been focused on persuasion rather than on the structural conditions that were sustaining the resistance.

Outcome (32 weeks)

The consolidation was completed during the programme. His examined final project documented the process and the decisions made, including the ones that did not work. The examining panel described the project as one of the more candid accounts of an organisational change they had seen from a practitioner.

"Having to examine my own thinking and defend it to people who had no stake in agreeing with me was genuinely useful. Most organisational life does not give you that."
